LUCA SERIOLI
I am a Biomedical Engineer with a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University “G. d’Annunzio” of Chieti–Pescara, where I completed my studies with honors. My academic journey has been shaped by a strong interest in neurotechnology, biomedical signal processing, and the application of engineering methods to real clinical and human-centered challenges.
My thesis, “EEG-based Classification of Mental Workload in N-Back Tasks,” focused on the use of electroencephalography to investigate and classify mental workload. Throughout this work, I gained hands-on experience in EEG recordings, signal preprocessing, feature extraction, data analysis, and machine learning techniques for biomedical applications.
A key part of my professional growth was my Erasmus+ traineeship at g.tec medical engineering GmbH in Austria, where I had the opportunity to work on EEG-based experimental protocols and data analysis in an international setting. This experience reinforced my interest in translational neuroengineering and in technologies that connect research, innovation, and practical impact.
I am especially motivated by the intersection of biomedical engineering, artificial intelligence, and neuroscience. I am passionate about developing reliable and meaningful technological solutions that can advance research, support clinicians, and improve people’s lives.
